Poor Peanut...

Poor Peanut... her ear is hurting more now (and I think she's been scratching at it to make the external part of the ear hurting now).  I called the Vet after I got home tonight and I'm going to take her back in tomorrow after work.

Other than that... I had my doctor's appointment this morning.  I am scheduled for an Endoscopy and a Colonoscopy on Friday! (YIKES!).  This is just a "routine" appointment of sorts... You need to get a Colonoscopy after you turn 50, so I'm getting it done and because they have said in the past that I have a small hiatal hernia, I'm having the upper GI.  I asked him if he could tell the size of my tummy while he was in there, but he said no, because they are looking microscopically, not at the bigger picture of the tummy. (okay... I didn't know that). *smiles*  So... I'll be driving up on Thursday after work (again)... and I'll do the "Go LYTELY" (whoever came up with THAT name was VERY sadistic!) up there, then get the scope first thing Friday morning. I'll have a friend escort me over to the hotel next door afterwards and then I'll spend Friday day/night there and return to Stuttgart on Saturday. (I guess I'm not supposed to drive for 24 hours afterwards).

I got back to Stuttgart around lunchtime today... caught up on some emails, talked with my co-worker and then I had to go to a meeting in another location.  For some reason I had it in my head that the meeting started at 2:30 and I got there about 2:25 (after some angst about not finding a place to park)... and the room where I *thought* the meeting was to be held, was dark.  I panicked a little. Found someone in the building who helped me figure out what was going on (I was worried it was in another location and that I was then going to be REALLY late).  Turns out the meeting wasn't until 3pm! So... I was there in PLENTY of time!

I *am* affected by Government shutdowns... so, as of tonight we have been told that we are supposed to go into work tomorrow morning and that we will know more by noon.  This is contrary to something that Obama and his clan have said - that we would all know whether we would be furloughed or not, by last Friday.  I guess I wish that Congress were treated more like the military... that they were subject to furloughs, to not getting paid if they didn't pass a budget, that they had the same health care and retirement as the rest (or the majority) of Federal employees.  I don't feel that they think they have much to worry about if they don't come to an agreement and I can't believe that every year (almost) it comes down to the 11th hour.  Argh!

Okay... signing off.

Hanging out near Ramstein

I'm sitting at a hotel up near Ramstein.  I've got a (routine) doctors appointment at 0830 am tomorrow, so rather than getting up at 0 dark 30 and driving up tomorrow, I came up this afternoon.  Tonight I'm watching the Seahawks and the Houston Oilers play, they are into overtime and tied at the moment.

Didn't do too much today at home, I took the dogs out for several walks and gave Peanut & Bruno a bath today.  I also did a lot of laundry today and got the floors vacuumed.

Okay, signing off for today.

Another Lazy Saturday

Doggy sitting... Cody is wearing his "cone of shame" because he keeps scratching himself.  And with him is little Mazzie.
Peanut looking weird.  She's actually shacking her head because her left ear is bothering her.  Not sure what Bruno is up to in this picture.

So... took it easy this morning, although it was difficult to fall back asleep after getting up to take all 4 dogs out. They have made it through the day without any accidents. Whew! (I took them out several times).  For the most part, I had a very non-productive day.  Later this afternoon I ran over to the large German store to turn in my soda bottles (25 cents (Euro cents)) per bottle makes it worth it.  There is a large Asian restaurant there, so I thought I would go ahead and eat there.  I just had the buffet, the food looked like it had been there awhile.  Still... I felt stuffed when I left there.  I had been in the mood for some Chinese/Asian food for awhile, so I'm glad I had some.

Not much else going on... tomorrow I need to pack an overnight bag. I'm driving up to Landstuhl for an appointment. It's Monday morning at 8:15am... and I don't feel like driving up EARLY Monday morning, so thought I would drive up tomorrow after my friends come pick up (all of ) the dogs and stay up there overnight.  I've got to be back by lunchtime on Monday because I have a meeting to go to in the afternoon.

Okay... signing off... (I'm watching "The Mentalist")

Some people...

So... my supervisor is gone this week which means I have to interact with the one co-worker that I don't think too highly of. (At least she has been acting more sane the last couple weeks, unlike that one week where even SHE acknowledged she was "losing it.").  Anyway... I have to attend a meeting for my supervisor next week and I went in to this co-worker to give her a copy of the agenda and to discuss it with her briefly and it turned into over an hour. Argh!  And then she mentioned that when I pick at my nails (hey... I'm a nail biter... at least I'm just "picking" at them)... it drives her nuts.  Well... this is coming from the person that picks at her scabs constantly (both on her arms and her scalp), this is coming from the person that talks with a mouth full of ice (she chews ice constantly), and this comes from the person who uses at least one swear word per sentence.  Do I complain? No... I just keep my comments to myself (at least for the most part). Although, I did mention the swearing thing. I'm not a prude... but I think it's possible to talk at least 90% of the time without swearing.

Other than that... work went okay. I only had one appointment and I managed to get my documentation done for that session.  I had sent a message to the person who does our billing about how I coded a session I had on Wednesday and she wrote back today (I got it when I came in this morning) and she praised my documentation, apparently I'm one of the best and I'm clear about what I am doing in my sessions. (Does that count for anything?).

This afternoon we were in training most of the afternoon.  I actually left work a little early because I needed to come home and pick up Peanut, (and Bruno) because I was able to schedule a Vet appointment for her today.  She's got an ear infection (or at least her ear is irritated).  He gave me some natural stuff to put in her ear and said to continue with the infared light (which I do have and HAVE been using).  But... it was a rush... I had to run home and get both sets of dogs taken out for a short potty break, then I had to take Peanut & Bruno for the appointment (whenever I take either of my dogs, I take both)... then run back home and take them out for a short afternoon walk... and then I had a 5:45pm appointment to get my nails done. I did a little shopping after that, then got a bite to eat at Pizza Hut.  (Wow... what an exciting Friday night!).

Then it was back home to get both sets of dogs back out for another walk. Now they are all here on the couch with me... and they are all dozing.

Okay... signing off.

Easy Thursday!

Photos from Tuesday...

So... work WAS easy today... I had 3 people that had to reschedule, so I ended up with only 1 appointment.  But, while I enjoy having the easy days (I got all my notes done/caught up, that is more than I can say for a couple people!)... it is important that I have MORE appointments than I had today!  Looking at next week, there's one day where I will be having 2 intakes, and so my work status will look like I had 10 appointments that day (we get more credit for intake appointments).

Not much going on tonight... I'm just watching "The X-Factor" tv show.  I did take all 4 dogs out at one time when I got home... THAT is a challenge. It'll be easier over the weekend, when I have more flexibility (time wise).  The guest doggies did okay today... I kept them in the kennel all day.

Okay... I'm going to sign off...

Doggy Sitting...

Some floral pictures from yesterday.

So... work went okay today, I had some of my favorite clients today, so that makes it a lot nicer.  We also had the potluck today and that went well.

After work I had to run some errands, then came home and took the dogs out for a walk.  Then about 7:30pm, my friends dropped off their dog (and within an hour one of them peed on the floor! Thank GOD I have tile floors!

Now it's about 9:30, time to think about going to bed.

So... signing off.

Pepperoni Pizza Rolls and Apple Enchiladas

These are NOT my photos... but they ARE what I've been making tonight.  The top photo is of Pepperoni Pizza rolls.  You buy the canned dinner rolls (I used "Grands" but I think something that isn't so big might have been better), you roll them out like you would if you were making little individual pizzas, then you put a small square (about 2") of mozzarella on the bottom and top, but in the middle you put a slice or two of pepperoni.  So.. Moz, Pepperoni, Moz.  Then you gather it up to make sure everything is enclosed by the biscuit/dough.  You place them in a greased pan, then wipe the tops with beaten egg, sprinkle parmesan cheese, garlic powder and Italian seasoning on top, then bake (at 425* for about 15-18 mins).  What happened with mine, is that the bottoms were still gooey, so I flipped them each over individually and then re-baked it with the bottoms facing up.  I haven't tried one of THOSE yet (but I had one other that was mostly cooked and it WAS good!).

And.. the bottom is something called Apple Enchiladas.  To make those, you get the 8" FLOUR tortilla shells, spread them out (I made 8), then spoon about a quarter cup of Apple pie filling onto the middle, sprinkle with cinnamon, then wrap it up like an enchilada. (I've NEVER made Enchiladas before... so made it like a burrito).  Then on top of a stove, (in a pan), you mix 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of butter, 1/2 cup of brown sugar and a 1/2 cup of regular sugar, bring it to a rolling boil, turn down the heat and simmer for 3 minutes or so (stirring all the while).  Then you pour THAT mixture over the "enchiladas" and let it sit for about 45 mins (to soak up into the tortilla shells)... then you bake it at 350* for about 20 minutes. I'll wait til tomorrow to see how it tastes.

Other than that, work went okay today, not too busy at all.  After work I had to go to the store to pick up the ingredients for the stuff I made tonight.  I have to say, we had absolutely beautiful weather here in Germany today, it was wonderful.  I took the dogs out for a short walk when I got home and then I've been watching "The Voice" (We get things a day late here on TV)... and I've been in the kitchen all night.

Now it's already 10pm, past my bedtime.  Tomorrow we have a 7:30am staff meeting... so I'd best get off here and get ready for bed.

Yellow Rose of Texas...

My neighbor has a yellow rose bush against her house... I thought I'd take some pictures of the flowers.  Whenever I see yellow roses, I think of my friend Lisa that gave me a yellow rose when I was down visiting in Texas and she told me... some roses are meant for holding (I was getting ready to leave and knew it wouldn't last long).  So... I took these photos in Lisa's honor.

Work went okay today... I have a slow week.  This morning I didn't have any appointments, so I went with my supervisor as she went to a school to interview a kid.  I've not done a lot of kid interviews, so it was a chance to do some learning (although, probably wasn't the best choice to sit in on, as the kid didn't have much to say).

One of our docs was back today, he's been gone since last May or so.  It's good to have him back, he can add to our chaos! LOL!

I forgot to wear my fitbit today, but I think I got in at least 7500 steps.  I didn't get too much sleep last night because I stayed up watching the Packers lose their football game (and then messaged my granddaughter who was also watching it, to say I was sorry they had lost, and apparently her daddy had it recording on the DVR, so there was a 5 minute delay for her... I spoiled the ending for her). Darn it.

Okay... signing off.

Shopping Sunday

So... this morning I got out of bed around 9am... then had to do some housecleaning... before my friends were due over at 1:30.  I ended up also baking banana nut muffins and bread, and I made some Chocolate Chip cookies (knowing my friends coming over don't get much in the way of American food).  So... it was a busy morning.  But, I have to also say, it was an absolutely beautiful day.  I hope we have some more nice days.  This morning when I woke up it was 41* degrees out.  Not ready for the colder, darker days.

After my friends came over (he's American, she's German and their daughter is the one I posted a photo of earlier this week)... we went shopping.  We didn't get back to my house until after 6pm!  We also stopped by Taco Bell and got a bite to eat.  It was good and other than Millie (the baby) getting tired a couple times and crying (and wanting to be held by Mommy), she did really well.

After my friends left, I took the dogs out for a short walk... and then came home and made a personal pan pizza.  I've been watching the Green Bay Packers game against Cincinnati.  The Cincinnati Bengals haven't been playing too well... they have had a lot of turnovers.

Okay... signing off. I need to go organize my vitamins. I use the daily pill reminders and usually make up about 6 weeks at a time and I ran out on Friday.  So... I've not had my pain (NSAID) medication for 2 days (no reason for that though) and I'm paying the price tonight.  Between all the work I've been doing around the house and all the shopping today, my knees, my feet and my lower back are really hurting.  So... I guess I'll go take an NSAID now (can't pronounce the generic name) and get my vitamins organized so I can go to bed as soon as the game is over.  (I may go to bed earlier... we'll see.  They are in the 3rd quarter and have about 4 minutes to go in that. It seems to take at least a half hour to play 15 minutes of game.

Busy Saturday

At least it wasn't cloudy ALL day... and we had a fairly decent sunset tonight.

I love the flowers in yards of my neighbors, especially this rose!

So... I went to bed about midnight last night and then slept til about 9am (other than getting up about 5:30am to let the dogs out for a quick potty break).  I read my emails and facebook til about 10 and then got up.

I've had a fairly productive day (and didn't even leave the house, other than to walk the dogs... and it looks like I'll hit my 10,000 step goal today, and that says a lot, since I didn't take the dogs for very long walks).

So... I got all my laundry done, folded, hung up and put away.  I vacuumed the basement and cleaned the laundry room really good (even pulling the washer and dryer out to clean underneath.  Doing all that actually took quite a bit of time... I also washed my bedroom windows and wiped down the wrought iron outside my window (it's white and there are bushes up above that cause the wrought iron to turn green/moldy).  I had wanted to wash down the back steps (that go down to my basement), but I didn't get that done.

I also vacuumed out my car and detailed it.

Then I tackled my back patio... I swept it (even pulling out the grill and cleaning behind and under it.  I also took apart my hammock and put it away in my garage.

And I got my dishes done and emptied the dishwasher.

Anyway... I felt like it has been a productive day.  I've still got quite a few chores to do... I guess if I don't get to them tomorrow, maybe I can do them next weekend.

Okay... signing off...

Hooray, it's another Friday!

So... work was fairly easy today.  We only have appointments in the morning and I also have a staff meeting on Friday mornings.  I only had one appointment today (and right now I have a pretty light week next week).  I *did* get all my notes done today and I also got my peer reviews (where I review the notes of another Marriage & Family therapist) done.  I had to contact the person that I was reviewing because he had made a common mistake.  It's so easy as we are asked to do more and more, and write longer notes and still see the same amount of clients (or more).  We end up doing a lot of cutting and posting. I've caught Myself getting the he said, she said, switched around.  Anyway, the note I was reviewing was for the male half of the couple, but it was written on the wife's template/information.  I contacted the Social Worker and he went ahead and fixed it (and that is what I would have done had the shoe been on the other foot).

Not much going on tonight... just watching some TV and hanging out with the dogs.  I'm debating about whether to go on a Volksmarch tomorrow afternoon.  I need to get the house cleaned tomorrow because I'm going to have some company on Sunday.  I *am* looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning (my favorite weekend activity!).

Okay... signing off.

Heading to the Matterhorn!

These are some of the flower photos I took yesterday, thought I'd share them with you. *smiles*

So... work went okay today, all of my appointments showed up (although one was late because of traffic).  I had some free time this morning, so I decided to look at some of the holiday weekends coming up and travel opportunities.  I was able to come up with a really good deal to go to the Matterhorn (partially because I'm making my reservations far enough in advance).  I'm going to Zermatt, which is a "car-free" town in the Swiss Alps.  I figured even if I drove part of the way down, at some point I would need to take the train.  So...I was able to book a round-trip train ticket for 74 euros.  And then I was able to get 3 nights in a Gasthaus/hotel (with free wifi and breakfast) for 142 euros.  Sounds like it is a pretty good deal for a long weekend. *smiles*  Zermatt is the jumping off point for the Matterhorn. And... the Matterhorn is on the top 100 places in the world to see. I'm looking forward to it.  It won't be a "new" country... but it will be a good weekend. I will be praying for some clear weather so I can get some decent pictures of "the" mountain hopefully.

Not much else going on.  I'm watching "Survivor" and switching back and forth between that and "X-Factor" show.   I've got Peanut sleeping next to me and Bruno on my lap (wanting some attention).  I *did* take over "on-call" today, so will have that for the next week.

Okay... signing off.

Saying good-byes...

Isn't this just a BEAUTIFUL rose I found while walking the dogs today?  I think so! And it was in a Garden... not tinkered with or anything.
Today was our Admin person's last day... she will definitely been missed. She's been a great asset to me.

Other than that... work went okay today, another rather slow day, I got all my notes done except for the last appointment of the day. I'll be able to get that done tomorrow morning.

We had a potluck at lunch time, I took ham, there was PLENTY left over.  I also took some cookies I made last night.  They were okay... probably won't make them again.  You take a can of crescent rolls... lay out the dough as it comes in the can... in a rectangular shape. You spread a softened cream cheese mixture of 1 pkg of cream cheese, 1/2 cup of sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla, onto the crescent roll dough and then you sprinkle with mini chocolate chips.  You then roll up the dough like a log and wrap it in plastic wrap (I rolled it horizontally?).  Anyway... after you refrigerate it about 2 hours, preheat an oven to 350*, then you take the dough out of the fridge, and cut it in 1/4 slices, and then bake it for 12-14 mins (til it gets golden brown).  It was okay... not sure how I could have made them better... but they *were* edible).

Not much going on this evening. I downloaded the newest Photo Shop program from Corel, not sure I like the new version, I was used to the older version. So I have a learning curve. (YUK).  Anyway, I've been messing with that tonight.

Okay... it's past 9:30pm, time to think about heading to bed.

Half-day of work...

A budding pine cone photo I took last week...

So... this morning I woke up with tummy problems, so I called my boss and took a half day off (had trouble falling back to sleep after that though).  The tummy problems passed and I went into work, only had two appointments this afternoon.  For some reason, my schedule is really light right now.

After work I came home and took the doggies out... and then had to go do a little shopping and meet someone to buy something (a "Coach" passport book cover that was being sold pretty darn cheap).  Tonight I'm baking some cookies and getting stuff ready for a potluck at work tomorrow. Our Admin person is retiring.  She is definitely going to be missed!  I'm taking ham in a crockpot (I've never made it in a crockpot before, I hope it turns out okay!

Okay... signing off.

1st Year birthday party...

This is Amelia, she turned 1 years old today.
Here's Amelia playing with her new toy that I got her (it's a dragon ball game).

So... work went fine today, I only had one appointment scheduled, it was a "new" appointment, and I did get my note written for it.  I left work about 2:30, so I could come home and take the dogs out before going over to Kirstin's and Donald's house.   I enjoyed meeting Kirstin's Mom and Dad, a couple aunts and her Grandmother (who is going to be 90 in December).  We had barbequed Hamburgers and Hotdogs. (Donald is American). Oh and... Amelia is the little one that fell asleep on my lap as we were taking off from Stuttgart (on the airplane) when I was headed back to the States in August.

Okay... I'm going to keep this short. I got home really late and it is now 1am and I'm going to have to get up and go into work tomorrow morning. UGH! (or shall I say.. THIS morning).

Lazy Sunday and flower photos...

Took a couple photos when I took the dogs out for a walk this afternoon.

So... had a lazy day... enjoyed sleeping in and then having my "normal" Sunday brunch (eggs, bacon and a piece of toast).  I took a nap with the pups this afternoon and then had to run an errand. I got invited to a 1 year old birthday party for tomorrow, so wanted to go pick up a gift.  I was only gone a couple hours.

This evening I made a "Porterhouse" steak for dinner and had some garlic butter potatoes to go along with it. The dogs enjoyed having some of the steak.

Now it's 8:30... I've been watching the Green Bay vs Redskin football game. At half time, Green Bay is smoking the Redskins.

Okay... signing off...

Great Saturday...

So... I woke up around 6am this morning, got ready and took the dogs out and about the time I got back, my friend Lori was here.  We headed out right at 7:30 am (our targeted time) and made it up to Ramstein in amazingly good time. We were just outside the gate about 9:35am (and I really didn't even speed that much where there wasn't a speed limit).  I think we kind of beat some of the morning rush.  By the time we found where the Bazaar was and parked, we had about 15 minutes to spare, so we wandered around, found a restroom and then they started letting people into the Bazaar about 5 minutes early.  There was SOOO much stuff there!   I found a wonderful German baking book (that's written in English and has all the measurement conversions)... I got some tapestry pillow covers and I finally bought a "Tree of Life" Tapestry.  I also bought some awesome tasting wine (well, relatively... it's a sweeter wine which I prefer).  I bought 6 bottles, 3 of two different kinds of wine. Lori got exactly the same as I did (with the wine).  There was also a vendor there selling these little charms that you put on wine glasses, so I asked her if I could just get the charms (and saved 5 euros).  She had a bunch of different sets... but the ones I got were the "European" ones. I got a Tower of Pisa, an Eiffel Tower, the Rome Coliseum, the Brandenburg Gate (Berlin), The London Bridge and the Manikin Piss boy.  How cool!  (I have a necklace and/or a bracelet I could put them on).  Other than that, I think the only other thing I got was a new can opener (a German one)... the lady said it is supposed to be really easy to use.  I've been having a hard time opening cans.  I had a good can opener at one point that worked really well, but it somehow got broke.  I hope this one works okay. The woman selling it said she's had one for 5 years and it still works really well.

After the Bazaar we went over to Macaroni Grill for lunch (Lori's treat!)... and then did some shopping.  We got some Cinnamon Buns to bring home and then stopped to get some gas and headed out from Ramstein a little after 4 (about 4:10-4:15) and despite one section of rain that was a torrential downpour that had us going about 35 mph on the autobahn for about 10-15 minutes, we still made it back by just after 6pm.  So... all is good.  Safe trip up and back.  Good food and good company.

Okay... it's about 9:50... time to think about getting off and getting to bed.  I've been on Skype with my oldest daughter, she had asked me to find a small doll for her (a German Rag doll, she apparently had gotten one for her niece (on her husband's side) and was wishing she had gotten one for herself... and I was able to find the one she was thinking about (just with a different color dress).  It wasn't expensive, less than 10 euro. *smiles*

Ah... okay... Good night!

Aloha Friday...

A photo from earlier this week when I was trying to catch the sun rays shining through the clouds. :)

So... work went okay today.  Because we are scheduled for training on Friday afternoons, I don't schedule much on Fridays (so I can make sure my notes are done in the morning). I only had one appointment scheduled today, but they had to call and cancel. SO... NO appointments today... but I did have a two-hour meeting with my supervisor and the other Social Worker (and actually, most WAS case discussion today).  And I *did* get my notes done... and then I did a "Sexual Harassment" training online that I had to get done (they said I was past due, but it's not past due until October... so I'm not sure what's up with THAT!).  I skipped lunch and took two hours of leave and left about 1:40pm. I had to run a couple errands and then when I came home, my neighbors (the new ones) came over and asked if they could take the dogs for a walk, so I suggested I go with them.  We ended up doing 2 1/2 miles. I got to show them more of the trails out in the woods. There are various logging trails you can go down and some will lead you back to town, some are dead-ends...

It was a good walk.

Tonight I've been watching "The X-Factor", it's been a great show.  I've also been on the computer (what else is new?).  Tomorrow I'm going to get up early and head back up to Ramstein with the wife of one of our docs. (He's been deployed, but he is slowly making his way back home... I think he's in Kuwait at this point still).  Up at Ramstein they are having a huge bazaar where vendors from all over Europe come and sell their stuff.  Not really looking for anything... but I'll keep my eyes open for some Christmas presents and who knows... maybe I'll find some Polish Pottery that catches my eye (although there's nothing I'm specifically looking for).

Okay... signing off...

More flowers...

Some floral pictures from today (it was rainy today).

Today *was* a colder day than normal... it was a reminder that fall and winter are coming.  I'm not liking the shorter days or the colder weather.

Work went okay today... there were a few gaps of time and of course, my 11am appointment ran over... I don't know why I do that... schedule people in that hour that I know have the risk of running over time.  I try to schedule appointments for my clients when it is convenient for them.  And I don't like cutting people off when they are actively processing issues.

Tonight at home, I'm just hanging out and watching some TV... I put on some sweats and already have my clothes ready for tomorrow.  I'm watching "The X-Factor" and will be watching "America's Got Talent" after this. (and THEN I hope to head to be right after 9pm!).

Not much else going on, so I'm going to sign off.

Happy Birthday Peanut!

Not the best photo of Peanut... but I wanted to post one because it's her birthday (and an easy day - unfortunately, due to the 9-11 attack, to remember).

Work went okay today, it was weird, I had two of my appointments call to reschedule and another one was a no-show.  So... I only HAD one appointment today.  But, that allowed me to get caught up on documentation and take care of a couple other things (like get the information to do a will... something I *really* need to get done).  I also tried to get an appointment for some routine medical work that needs a consult... so I have THAT in the works as well.

After work I came home and took the dogs out for a walk, ran into someone I know here in the community that has a lab-mix dog. It's the first time my dogs have interacted with her dog... I held Bruno at first, but then let him down to sniff... he didn't do TOO bad, but then the other person's dog is very well behaved.  Peanut did okay, she just keeps her distance from all dogs.

After that I had to go get my nails done... and then did a little shopping and since it was late I went over to the Bowling Alley and just had a burger combo meal.  While I was there though, I ran into some friends, including one that is flying out this coming weekend... finally heading back to join her husband.

Okay... since it's 10:30pm, I'd better sign off and head to bed... morning is going to come early!

Eh... okay day...

This beautiful flower was out in a field, all by itself.  Beautiful!
And this is a close up of a very small plant (I really don't know one flower/plant from another, but that doesn't stop me from admiring it's beauty.  And if I am told what the name is... I won't remember! LOL!)  This one reminded me of "nature's snowflake. *smiles*
I liked the colors of this one...

This morning we woke to heavy rain... and it was dark (sad face)... I took the dogs out for their morning potty break, but even Peanut didn't like the heavy rain much... she was the one wanting to run home as soon as she had gone potty!

I'm thankful I managed to get out of the house a few minutes early, those who got to work after me were LATE primarily due to traffic. (I got to work at 7:20am... I start at 7:30am).

My first appointment of the day was rescheduled, but I ended up in a impromptu meeting with my boss and so didn't get any notes (the one from yesterday) written.  And then it was a fairly busy day. My 11am appointment got caught up in a meeting, but I was able to slide them into the 3pm slot which was empty.

This afternoon the weather cleared up and I took the dogs for a short walk (not 2 1/2 miles).  And then came home and made some shrimp scampi for dinner. It's only 8:15pm as I write this, fairly early for me. I am hoping to be in bed earlier tonight, according to my fitbit I didn't go to bed until 11pm last night (could have sworn I was in bed by 10!).  So... will work on that.

Okay... signing off...

Some more Macro photos that I took today

Well... this one got misplaced! *smiles* I just thought the clouds tonight were kind of cool!
I *love* this photo... the flower looks like it is floating mid-air

"This Bud's for you!"

So... work went okay today... I only had 3-4 appointments and I was able to get all but one of my notes written up. My first appointment for tomorrow morning had to reschedule, so maybe I can get it written then.

After work I gave my boss a ride over to pick up her car from the repair shop (she was having the window fixed on her "old" car and she should be picking up her new car tomorrow).

I forgot to mention that yesterday, as I was sitting having lunch with  my friend Laura, I noticed a spot on my forearm, a little black spot, and I couldn't figure out what it was, I couldn't just "scratch it off."  So, I happened to have my favorite pair of tweezers in my purse and had my glasses for reading, so I was able to remove the "black spot" that way... turned out it was a tiny tick! I have NO idea where THAT came from (such a random place... but thankfully it was in a place that I could SEE).  Anyway... of course then I started tweaking, worrying about Lyme disease... but when I looked up online about ticks and Lyme disease, it sounds like you can't become infected until the tick has engorged on your blood (about 24-36 hours after they attach). SO... it seems like I caught it early enough (it was very tiny!).  Whew.  I worry about that... getting Lyme disease, especially as much as I go out walking the dogs.  The dogs have had their Lyme disease shot, so I worry less about them.

Other than that... I did take the dogs out for a walk after work, when I got home... and we ran into a young woman that has two Minature Pinchers (Ballou and Tequilla).  I've seen them before when I've been out walking the dogs.  The dogs wanted to play with Peanut (but she's too shy) and I was hesitant to put Bruno down (I was holding him)... but I did.  And man... did he have fun chasing those two dogs!  Wore him out! LOL!

Just a quick note

A little "shroom" that I found yesterday walking the dogs.

So... after staying up til about 3:30am this morning (I was finding classmates online)... I went to bed and woke up about 8:30am. (UGH!).  I managed to leave the house about 9:45 and got up to Ramstein about noon.  It would have been 2 hours almost on the "dot" but the exit ramp to get to Ramstein was under construction, so I had to find another way to get there. (FUN).

I enjoyed some shopping and then met up with my friend Laura for some lunch. I haven't seen her since our trip to Morocco over Memorial Day weekend.  We enjoyed lunch at the Macaroni Grill.  While I was up there I went ahead and got my eyebrows waxed (only $10 or so), I think that's only the 2nd time ever I have had them done.

I did some grocery shopping while  I was up there (they have a larger selection of food) and then it was about 9pm when I finally made it back home. It was raining pretty hard coming home (going up wasn't bad weather-wise, but I was amazed at how much construction was going on, on the autobahn!)

Wow! What a late night/early morning!

Found this in the field this morning... beautiful, eh?

Well... for the most part I had a lazy day. I did take the dogs for a LONG walk this afternoon (well, early evening) and I *did* make my 10,000 steps today! (something I've not been doing too good at lately).

This evening I went to a movie on the German economy with a woman and her husband. The woman had sat next to me when I was flying to the US in early August and I had given her my business card (it was her little daughter who fell asleep on my lap as we were taking off).  It was good to meet Kirstin's husband and we enjoyed getting a bite to eat and seeing the movie.

Other than that, my day/night has been consumed with trying to find old HS classmates. I think I've sent about 30 friend requests out on Facebook and I started a Facebook page for our classmates (there are already about 40 of my classmates on my Facebook and on the page).  It will be fun to reconnect with more. BUT... since we had a class of about 425, there were a LOT of names to go through and search for.

Okay... since it's after 3am...I'm going to sign off and head to bed.

Sunset over Steinenbronn

Various sunset photos that I took tonight... beautiful, eh?

So... work went okay today. I only had one appointment this morning and then had something else I had to follow up on.  You would think that I could have gotten my notes done (but I had 7 notes for yesterday, including an "intake" and 4 that were "2nd appointment" notes which take longer to write. And I ended up having two meetings this afternoon which was a pain... didn't get much out of them and as a result, I didn't get my notes completed. I think I was down to 3 notes. (One of those is a "2nd note", so a little longer to write).  And I even stayed late at work (and was the last one to leave).  My boss told me to go home at quitting time and when I complain about not leaving without getting my notes done, she then just talks about how far behind SHE is in her notes (so that's okay?).  She said she might come in this weekend and work for a few hours (she said she would need at least a full day to get all her notes done, but said there was no way she was going to give up a full weekend day to start off with a clean slate).  I think she has notes that are over a MONTH overdue.  Her position is a little different, due to the nature of the type of work she does, she doesn't bill clients. I think if her position was a "billable" position that she would be in BIG trouble.

Anyway... not much else to write about tonight. I took the dogs out for a walk and got some good photos.  Oh yea... and if you follow my blog, you might remember that on my trip back to Texas earlier in August, I sat next to a young lady with a 10 month old daughter (Amelia) and I held Amelia on take-off and she fell asleep in my lap. Well, her Mama emailed me tonight and asked if I would like to go with her and her husband to a local German theater (that shows American movies). SO... I think I'll accept the invitation (for tomorrow night).  Should be fun. It feels like it has been a long time since I've been "out" for a night.

Okay... signing off...
