1 more day...

So... *1* more day of work and then I'm headed off for my transatlantic cruise!  And... no, I haven't finished packing.  I did get the dogs dropped off tonight and I've vacuumed and I've been doing some cleaning and laundry. I'll come home to clean sheets on the bed, and a clean house! (I like that).

Work went okay today, I had one cancellation (it was a new appointment, maybe they were scared away by the prediction of snow today).  I'm glad this week is over, I've made 3 "booboos" this week.  One was putting the wrong note in the wrong chart (electronically)... so I'm still working to get that corrected.  #2 was acknowledging someone's birthday that I shouldn't have (not my client, but I was aware of it... but still shouldn't have said anything, that was out of my lane) and #3, I forgot my ID at work yesterday, but thankfully I have 2 other ID's, so I could still get into the clinic this morning (and past security).  So... since things happen in 3's... that's ALL that is GOING to happen! (right?).

I guess tomorrow there is supposed to be a railway strike in Italy, I *don't* think it is going to affect my overnight train ride to Rome, nor the ride out to the Port.

Tomorrow I only see 1 client, and then I'll have 4 notes to get written up (I started on the 3 notes for today).  It should be doable within the time frame I have to get it done in tomorrow.

I think I'm going to take my down comforter and another bedspread over to the Dry Cleaner's tomorrow, I can pick them up when I get back.  (One of the dogs upchucked on my bed yesterday, so I had to pull the duvet and comforter off the bed).  It's always something...

Okay... signing off... I'll try to post before I head off on my train ride tomorrow and then hopefully I can do a short post once I'm on the ship Saturday.  Just a reminder that I won't be able to post any pictures on my blog while I am traveling for the next two weeks... but I promise to make up for it when I get back to Germany on the 17th of December.

Rainy, Rainy Wednesday!

A photo I took of the dogs the other day when we out walking.  Today it has been raining all day (it's been raining for the past 3 days, I think).  Tonight the rain is supposed to turn to snow and on Friday we are also supposed to be having snow showers.

Work went okay today, nothing too out of the ordinary, although I did have a work-related teleconference at 4pm that ran until after 5pm.  After work I went over and got my nails done (it was time anyway, but also it was just in time for my cruise!).  That took quite a long time.  I ended up not being able to come home and let the dogs out before my appointment though, and was quite thankful that I could call my neighbors and they came to the rescue and got the dogs out for a potty break. Whew!  (I had forgotten about the teleconference until I got to work).

Other than that, my older sister is recovering from her surgery, the doc said it gave her 90% better results for her shoulder, I don't know about her... but I'd be happy with that.  And today my younger sister is going in for Gastric Bypass surgery (not sure which type she is having).  My younger sister found out that her cat has cancer.  She's had that cat longer than she's known her husband!

Okay... signing off.

3 More days... just 3 MORE days...

I loved THIS Porsche... how cool!
This seems like a "typical" Porsche
This was kind of an odd Porsche

So... work went okay, I had one appointment reschedule, but then added an extra one in.  I had a new "intake" that took a LONG time (just over 2 hours).  So... all-in-all, it was a busy day.  I got all but one of my notes written.

After work I went by the Post Office to mail Arielle's jacket off to her, she left it here.  At least that is taken care of.  Tonight I've been packing and it sure seems like I have a LOT that I'm taking!  And I haven't even packed any shoes yet! YIKES!  I *am* taking a couple bottles of wine and way too much Ritter Sport candy to share... so that will be the space that I'll get to hopefully put a couple souvenirs in.  I don't plan on buying too much... definitely a T shirt from the Canary Islands, and I want to get a couple ornaments in Barcelona and pick up something special in Marseille France, which was my High School Homeroom Teacher's home town.  Mr. Jonas was my homeroom teacher for all 4 years of HS, he passed away last year.

By the way, I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, all my labs are coming back okay, thank goodness, that means I'm doing things right.  Although she forgot to order two tests, one for zinc and one for Vitamin A... so I'll go in and get those done before I leave.

Not much else to write about, so I'll sign off.  Just 3 more days until I leave for my cruise! WHOOOHOOO!  I can't wait. It's a well-deserved vacation!

Monday, Monday... how could it be?

My babies... *smiles*  They are good doggies and will let me put them where ever, to get their photos taken!

Work went fine today, I had one cancellation and one new appointment (which means more writing).  Laura came down today and picked up her kids... her daughter left her jacket behind (she said she *always* forgets *something*).  I can mail it to her for free though, so once I get her address, that won't be a problem.

Tonight I've just been doing some vacuuming and cleaning the upstairs where the guest rooms are.  I washed the bedding for one room (and re-made the bed that Julia had slept in). I've still got another load or two of laundry to do (the German washers and dryers take FOREVER).  Anyway... so tonight was making the house a little more presentable, maybe tomorrow will be the start of packing for my upcoming trip.

Now it's WAY past my bedtime... I almost forgot to blog! Oops!  It's 10:40pm.  Morning is going to come early.

End of Thanksgiving weekend

This is the Porsche museum and my favorite car that I saw (I'd hate to think about how much it costs!).

This morning we got up about 9 and I made pancakes for breakfast.  We left about noon to head to the Porsche museum, we were going to take the train, but just missed it, so we drove instead.  It didn't take as long to go through the Porsche museum as I thought and I have to say... I think I liked the Mercedes museum better.  Afterwards we stopped by the store for a little bit.

My friends came and picked up their doggies about 5:30... so now I'm just down to 2 extra kids.  They've been really good this weekend.  I'm glad they were here, they really helped a lot with the extra dogggies.

Tonight I made my favorite dinner... we had ham and scalloped potatoes! YUM, YUM!  I've got the dishes rinsed and put in the dishwasher (I've used my dishwasher more this weekend than I have in the past year, I think!).

Now it's almost 9pm... about bedtime... so I'll sign off.

Ahhhh Saturday!

So... here's a photo of the doggies that I took today.  Bruno has more tolerance for Mazzy than for Cody *smiles*

After a lazy morning, and a couple short doggy walks, I took the kids to the store and then to see "Arthur's Christmas."  It was a cute animated Christmas movie.  Then we stopped and picked something up for dinner and came on home.

Nothing too exciting.  This evening we have just been watching some movies on TV (to include "The Planet of the Apes").

Okay... signing off...

Twas the day AFTER Thanksgiving...

Julia took this picture of me last weekend up in Rothenburg. *smiles*

So... it was back to work for me today... I only had one appointment this morning and so I was able to get my notes all caught up on the computer.  I even got 3 out of 5 of my "Peer reviews" done this afternoon.  I need to have all 5 done before I go on my vacation next week.  It looks like I've got a fairly busy week ahead... I hope I can stay on top of my work so I don't have to stay late any nights. I'd rather use my evenings for house-cleaning and packing.  I would like to clean all the guest rooms before I go and have them all made back up... you never know when I might get more company! *smiles*  I'll probably work on them Monday night.

I did manage to get to the Post Office.  I had to pick up a dozen custom forms so that I can get my calendars dropped off at the Post Office next week.  I also picked up stamps, so I can get my Christmas cards dropped off as well. I've got my letters and card in the envelopes and I've got my return address labels on, so now I've just got to address them (I started last night). The Calendars are all ready to mail though. (and as I mentioned, there are a dozen of them).

Not doing too much tonight.  I did make dinner for the kids.  We had pork chops, macaroni & cheese, corn and peaches. And I got the kitchen cleaned up right after dinner.

Okay... I suppose I should sign off and get busy addressing the Christmas cards.  I'm also watching "Whale Rider" (the movie) with the kids.  I haven't watched it for a long time.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Candlelit table as we prepared to eat
Dinner's ready! (Arielle & Johnny are sitting)

So... I got up REALLY early this morning to take Julia to the train station... I got up at 5:45,  because I wasn't sure how early she wanted to go (she hadn't been able to get her ticket before I went to bed last night, and if she didn't get it, she was going to have to get it down at the main train station before the train left about 8 heading to Prague).  Anyway... we didn't leave until about 7... then I got home about 7:40 or so and crawled back into bed for a couple hours.  I had to be back up by about 9:30am because my friends Jared & Lori were bringing over their dogs.  The rest of the day went okay... I was working on getting my calendars ready to mail and I started on my Christmas cards, while watching some TV shows (with Johnny... we watched some "Lord of the Rings" and then we watched "Rio" and "Cars II").

We went over to my friend's house (Laurie's) for dinner (Arielle, Johnny and I).  She put on quite a spread and had invited some German friends of hers, so that was nice.  I didn't leave there until about 8:30 to come home (but had to stop and get gas on the way home).

Now it's already 10pm... bedtime... so I'll sign off.

Twas the night before Thanksgiving...

This is a cool house in Rothenburg, I think it's actually a "Gausthaus".

So... work was busy today, even though I had one "no-show."  Next week is looking to be busy as well.  I left work about 5pm and headed home with Julia (the student intern that's working in another section of our clinic).  I had talked with the kids and they had taken the dogs out 3 times today.  So... after we got home, Julia finished packing up here large bag and then about 6pm we left to take it down to the apartment where she will be renting.  We had to wait a little while for the "room-mate" to get there to let her in and then she dropped off her deposit and her suitcase.  Tomorrow morning she's hopping on a train going to Prague and will be gone for the next week.  When she returns, it will be to her new rental place.  After she finished up, we headed to my favorite little Italian restaurant near where I used to work.  Their prices are fairly reasonable.  Right now Johnny (my friend's 11 yo) and I are watching "The Lord of The Rings" on a DVD.

Tomorrow morning I should be getting 2 more doggies (I had thought about sleeping in... guess I won't be?).

Oh yea... and the best news for today?  I got my calendars from VistaPrint!!!  Whoohoo! I *really* didn't expect to get them before leaving on my cruise next weekend. (in just over a week).

Okay... signing off...

Walking along the oldest wall around the oldest walled in city in Germany
This was sunset taken from the wall in Rothenburg.

Work went okay today, but actually it was kind of crazy.  All my appointments showed up this morning, but just as I was going to lunch I got a call that my 1pm appointment needed to reschedule.  Then when I came back from lunch, my boss called (she was at another clinic this afternoon with our other Social Worker) and asked if I would respond to a domestic violence incident... so I had our admin person call my 2pm to cancel that appointment and I made it back to my office just after 3pm, but had called and told the admin person to have my 3pm appointment wait for me and that I was just going to be a couple minutes late.

Tonight my "other" company made it here... Arielle is 17 and Johnny is 11.  They are great kids. I'll have them with me until Monday.

Other than that, today I got my luggage tags for my upcoming cruise! Whoooohoooo!!!!!  I feel one more step closer to leaving!

Monday, my Tuesday? (since Thurs is a holiday)

These are Schneeballs.  They taste like pie crusts that have been sliced in strips, made into a mess of a ball, dipped in hot oil to cook, and then they roll it in cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, chocolate, etc.   They are a staple of Rothenburg and a "must-have" if you visit there.

Work went okay today, I had one person come in and reschedule from today to tomorrow, so my workload was lighter than expected.  I went to lunch with some of my co-workers (which is always nice).

Not much going on tonight, I watched "The Amazing Race" and I am watching "Monk" now.  I need to get the bed inflated and put into the 3rd bedroom tonight because I have company coming tomorrow night (the 12 & 15 year old kids of a friend that is bringing them down for the long weekend).

Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber today

Just some photos from today in Rothenburg.  We had a great trip up there, only took about 2 hours driving each way.  I think we got up there about 11:30 and left about 5.  Had a good late lunch/dinner there about 3, (my main meal for the day). I'll post more pictures this week.

Tonight I've just been doing some laundry, watching some TV and messing with the pics I took today.

It's already 10pm now... bedtime.

Busy Stuttgart on a Saturday

This last photo was taken from the roof of the apartment where my "guest" (Julia) will be living in 2 weeks.  It was a very nice day today here in the Stuttgart area.

So... slept in a little this morning (but went to bed late last night), and then ran a couple errands (to get mail and to get a new battery for Bruno's collar thing (it lights up in the dark, both dogs have one,  but Bruno's malfunctioned the other day and I couldn't turn it off... so the battery went dead within the day... so I had to replace it).  Then I came home and Julia and I were going to take the bus to the train station and then on into town, but the bus got to the stop just before we got there and pulled away as we were crossing the street... so we came back home and I drove us over to the train station in Leinfelden (we beat the bus anyway)... and rather than take the S-Bahn, we took the "U-bahn" which is a more localized train and makes more stops.  We got off at one stop (had a choice of two) and after a couple wrong turns, we found our way to the apartment building where she'll be renting a room.  Her room-mates that she will have seem nice, (although she's taking over the room for one of them who will be going up to Berlin for a few months).  It'll be a challenge for her to get back and forth from there to work (she'll have to do some walking... hopefully we don't have TOO snowy of a winter... for her sake).

Anyway... after she got the apartment issue all settled, we walked on downtown (after stopping for a bite to eat) and wandered all over town.  We stopped by the local flea market (neither of us bought anything)... I saw that they already have the Ice rink set up near the Schloss (palace?) and people were ice skating... and they had a bunch of booths set up (just food/snacks/drinks/gluhwine).  I got a stick with chocolate dipped strawberries... yum, yum!  Then we walked up and down Konigstrasse (a long street for shopping that is pedestrian only).  Finally we made it back to the main train station and took the S-Bahn back to Leinfelden.  I took the dogs out for a short walk... and now I've got over 13,000 steps for the day!  Hooray!

I'm tired tonight though... so I might go to bed early.

I hope you have a good Saturday!

Another Saturday night...

This one of my calendar photos of Amsterdam, I love the colors!

So... I only had one appointment this morning, but it *was* an interesting one.  Obviously I can't go into details.  But, I had to shake my head at one of the people (a couple) I was seeing.  I just wanted to slap them upside the head and give them a wake up call... but... alas, I can't do that.

I did manage to get all my notes done, but it took almost ALL afternoon and I didn't leave work until after 5pm.  I had wanted to make it to the Post Office to pick up a package that I had waiting, but with a huge STAU (traffic jam) on the Autobahn, I got there about 5 minutes too late.  Waaaaaa... so I guess I will need to go back tomorrow (but at least it is OPEN tomorrow for holiday hours!).

I found out this morning via email that I have overpaid the Electric Company... (they took 600 euro out of my bank account yesterday), but at least I should get that back and more... and then they are going to have to lower my bill to 100 euro a month!  Apparently they asked the Housing Office if they could pay me back in installments, but if I read the email correctly, they are supposed to pay me back all of it at once.  I just hope they do it before I have to go on my cruise.

Okay... since this is late... I'm going to sign off.

Another hectic day...

I thought I'd post this picture of Venice... because it has been on my mind lately.  Recently (this past week) saw a picture that shows San Marco square under about 20" of water.  YIKES!

So... today had more drama in it.  It was during one of my sessions... someone became very upset to the point that one of my co-workers knocked on the door to check on me (I wasn't alone, I had one of my supervisors there).  I never felt threatened, I think it is more, that the person was very angry and our walls are too thin.  That was probably the most "excitement", if you will, that I had today.

At lunchtime we had our annual Thanksgiving potluck for our building, that was nice... lots of good food with turkey and stuffing and green bean casserole.  I made my "Chocolate Delight" and had a small piece.  There was some left over (we had a LOT of food)... so tomorrow I hope to have another piece at lunchtime for desert!

I had a fairly busy day overall... and didn't get ANY of my notes written (darn it).  Little things kept popping up to do... like having to collaborate with my boss and her supervisor (my senior rater) on my performance review.  I got "Exceeds Expectations" on all points. (YAY for me!).  Not sure if it will culminate in a raise or not... sure would be nice if it did.

After work I brought my guest home and then went to do a little shopping... the company that makes my favorite shoes was having their semi-annual shoe sale... but alas... I didn't find what I was looking for (I was some forest green, or OD green shoes), so I managed to get out of there without spending ANY money! (YAY for me!).

Okay... signing off...

Half way through a short week... thank Goodness!

This is a picture I took last year in Amsterdam, I have it on my electronic picture frame at work and I really like it, it didn't make my calendar this year, but I still like it.

Work was hectic today... it started off with a meeting and then two back-to-back appointments that lasted 1 1/2 hours each.  The first one was very drama filled and I wish I had a wand so that I could take a couple back to before they were married and have them be VERY honest with each other about the baggage they were bringing to the marriage/relationship.  I'm not sure if that would change things for them or not... and I wish I could have helped them see where the choices in their lives took them down the paths they were headed for. That probably doesn't make a lick of sense... but... this is a couple that should not have gotten married in the first place.  Thankfully the other appointments weren't so drama filled.

After work I stopped by the grocery store for a couple things and so that my guest could do some shopping as well.  I picked up a sandwich wrap for my dinner while I was there.  Then I stopped by the Post Office, I'm expecting several packages... and one of them have arrived.  I got the pants I ordered from Penney's.  They are the only ones that I know I can consistently get the style/brand of pants I like, that I *know* will fit without trying them on.

When I got home I took the dogs for a walk... watched "The Voice", and made "Chocolate Delight" for a potluck we are having at work tomorrow.  Where does the time go? It's almost 10pm... time to head to bed.

Happy Tuesday?

I'm going to skip posting a picture tonight... it's past 9:30 and I want to get to bed relatively soon.

Work went okay today, I think I just had four appointments, but I also had a patient call in crisis.  And then I was eating lunch with a bunch of my co-workers and found out our Optometry clinic has a new student intern (from Nelson, BC), but she can't get into her rental until the end of the month.  So, I offered to let her stay with me til then (am I nice or what?).  *smiles*

After work we went by the hotel she had been staying in and picked up her luggage, then headed back to my house to walk the dogs.  After my guest unpacked and after I got the dogs walked, we walked over to the nearby store so she could pick up a few things and so I could show here where it's located at.

Other than that... I've just been watching "The Voice" and surfing the web.  Good news today though... my youngest daughter was granted her divorce today! (She only lived with the guy for about 3 months, but they've been married over 5 years I think).  So... I'm glad she can finally close that chapter on her life.  And I bet she's happy about that too.

Okay... signing off...

Veteran's Day holiday

I actually like this picture of me from when I was in the Air Force.  I have it as my picture on my Facebook right now as well.  Tomorrow I'll find a different picture to put on, I just put it up for the Veteran's Day weekend.

Today I slept in (again)... and took it easy.  I've had the dogs out a couple times.  I did finally get off my rear this afternoon and went to one of the local German stores (REAL... pronounced Ree-Al), to drop off my accumulation of recyclable pop bottles and to buy some flowers for my table.

Then I came home and made me a steak and a baked potato for dinner... YUM, YUM!  The dogs got to enjoy some too.  And they are so good... I'll give one of them the bone and they will actually take turns gnawing on it.  I gave it to Peanut first, and after about 5 minutes, I made her get out of their bed and let Bruno have a turn... I did that off and on for about a half hour until it was fairly chewed up.  Bruno had it last and at one point I was going to let Peanut get down and have another go of it, but she wasn't interested, she was more interested in napping next to me.

Tonight I watched "Amazing Race" again. Not sure if I mentioned, but last week they were in Istanbul.  This week they were in Moscow.   After that got over, I went ahead and finished up two assessments for work, so those are done.

Okay... it's after 9pm... time to wrap things up and get ready for another busy week.

Thanks to all the Veterans out there!

Some photos of Peanut (mainly) and Bruno out walking this morning... it was rainy and foggy (still is tonight!).
I *love* my BOG boots.  They keep my feet very warm and dry and I love wearing them when I take the dogs out for their walks.

So... slept in a little this morning... and then got busy with house cleaning.  I vacuumed downstairs and the main floor... I mopped both floors... finished up my laundry AND got it all folded AND put away!  My house is clean once more.  If I had my way (and I *really* do)... I'd have my house always "company" ready... or ready for my landlord to walk in on a moment's notice.  But... as I get busy during the week, I lay this there, that there... the dogs shed and hair is all over the place... and we come in from muddy fields, etc... and my house isn't always as clean as I'd like it to be.

Tonight about 6, I went on into work, I had to stop and drop off some garbage and I needed to do a little grocery shopping... THEN I went into work.  I stayed til about 11, but at least I got my notes done for this coming week and got some stuff ready for charts.  I had hoped to do 2 more assessments... but silly me... I had brought them home and didn't make sure I had them with me when I went to work. Ugh!

Not much else going on... so I'll sign off for another day.  Not sure what I'm doing tomorrow... I haven't decided.  I thought about going down to Baden Baden... until I realized some of my clients said they were going to go down there.  Don't really want to run into clients at a thermal spa!

Okay...

Lazy, rainy Saturday...

It was cloudy, rainy and muddy today... but thankfully it wasn't snowing!
I finally was out for our doggy walk during daylight so I could take a photo of my favorite tree that fell sometime last weekend.  I'm surprised that no one has been out to clean it off the trail... when I walk in the dark I always carry a flashlight with me, so I won't run into it (and so I can watch where I am walking and avoid walking into any dog poop!).

So... this morning I managed to get a net 9 hours and 40 minutes of sleep!  I was in bed for 10 hours and 20 minutes. (It takes time to fall asleep... and then this morning I was awake for a few minutes to let the dogs out to go potty out back and then we went back to bed.  My fitbit said that I woke up 14 times last night.  I wonder what the national average is of waking up times (I'm sure Fitbit must have the stats on its users somewhere!).  I had bought some bacon yesterday at the grocery store... so I fried some up and made myself a bacon sandwich for lunch (yum, yum).

I did finally go run some errands about noon.  I wanted to pick up some new "Ear Bags." They are like ear muffs, but without the piece that goes over your head.  I'm not sure what happened to the ones I bought last year.  I bought them at the Pet store that I go to... so while I was there, I bought some more dog food and some more dog treats.  Then I went to the store... I needed more vitamins and a couple other little things.  Probably the most disappointing thing about doing my errands, is that with the walking I did... I forgot to wear my fitbit. I had left it on the charger attached to my laptop. GRRRR!

After coming back home, I just took the doggies out for another walk (that's when I took the above photos), and have just been sitting here on the computer since then.

No plans for tonight, it's just after 7pm now.  I may work on my Christmas cards.  I need to find where I put my address book so I can start addressing them.

Okay... signing off...

Hooray, it's FRIDAY!

I was thinking of a design for our upcoming cruise (there are at least 300 or so other people on a computer site that will be on the cruise with me and I think I'll know at least 20-30 people on the cruise because they were on the cruise last year).  Anyway... this ISN'T my photo of the ship... but I added the rest (the wording) to it.  I don't know if I could even order something at this point with the design because I'm leaving 3 weeks from tonight (at this time in 3 weeks, I should be in Munich getting ready to board the overnight train to Rome).

Work went okay today, the clinic was closed for a training day, but I still didn't get all my work done.  I got a call about some kids who have been abused and are being emotionally abused, so I had to deal with that... then I had the spouse of a client call and make an appointment and another person I have seen called to figure out where she could get her son assessed for a particular diagnosis.  My concern in that case is that I don't want her to pathologize the kid.  I think it's more important that they figure out some coping skills for the symptoms that he may have.  I hate putting "labels" on kids especially. And my guess is that he may be reacting to family dynamics that have been occuring for quite a long time.

I did leave work about a half hour early (we were given permission to leave an hour early)... but I'm going to have to go back in sometime this weekend to finish up some notes before Tuesday.

Not much going on tonight... I watched "The Voice" and I've been messing on the computer with the design stuff like that picture above.  I could be starting to address Christmas cards... I've got my letter written and printed off.

Okay... I'm going to sign off... I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning!

Keeping plants alive!

Have you ever seen the movie "28 Days" It has Sandra Bullock in it. She's in a treatment program.  They are told towards the end, that if they can keep a plant alive for a year, and then keep a pet alive for a year, THEN they can have a relationship.  (That's not my goal here though...  I just think this is the first plant I've been able to keep alive for a year! LOL!).

Work went okay today, but I didn't get as much done as I had hoped.   I did get to enjoy lunch with one of my favorite co-workers. AND, I got off relatively on time because I needed to go by the Post Office and pick up a package.  I got my Christmas cards in the mail today!  Now I can get my cards out by Thanksgiving.  I started on my Christmas letter tonight that I plan to include and I'm about ready to make up some return address labels to stick on the envelopes.

Other than that... I'm just watching "Survivor", although instead of being on the computer, I should have been on my "Gazelle" exercising while watching the show!

Okay... signing off...

Whew! The elections are over!

No photo tonight... I'm late getting my blog done.

Work went okay today I had a no show for my last appointment of the afternoon, but also had a walk-in.

This morning when I woke up, the first thing I did was to check the news to find out the outcome of the elections.  I voted in WA State (via absentee ballot).  Of all the referendums they had, I think I had a success rate of 9 out of 12 that went the way I voted.  Of the various candidates, I think my percentage wasn't as high, but more than half of those I voted for were elected.

After work I ran home to let the dogs out and then had to go to my nail appointment.  Afterwards I did a little bit of shopping (i.e. buying envelopes to mail the calendars when they come, and a folder to put my cruise related stuff in).  Then I came home and took the dogs out for another walk... and now I'm watching some "CSI" before I go to bed.

Okay... I'm going to keep this short and sign off...

GO VOTE!

This is the tree that I mentioned was apparently blown down over the weekend. It's been one of my favorite trees... I'm said to se it go... it had a lot of character.

Work went okay today... I had one of my clients come in having a crisis... so I helped them deal with that.  I only had 4 appointments today, with one no-show.  I also had a meeting this morning... so overall the day was fairly busy.  I worked through half of my lunch, so I did something I rarely do... I left work about 4pm (I get off a 4:30).  Typically I work 9 hours a day, without any compensation.  When I left early, it was to go to the Post Office and mail off my daughters' Christmas presents, so they are taking care of!  I had to shell out over $100 to get them mailed.  But, at least that is one less thing I need to worry about.  Now, I just have to wait for my Christmas cards and my calendars to get here so I can get them into the mail before I go on my cruise in about 3 1/2 weeks!

Okay... signing off...

This is one of the most awesome costumes I've seen in a long time.
Another guest in a devil outfit!
The view from my friend's house... fall colors are beautiful!

Work went okay today, it was steadily busy.  I had a new person come in for an appointment this morning and three other appointments.

This morning when I took the dogs out before work (it's dark when I go and dark when I get back)... anyway, I took them their normal morning route and I found that sometime over the weekend, my favorite tree out in the field had been blown over (probably termite damage?).  It's still across the path that we walk (when we did the route tonight).  I would have taken a picture of it... but it was dark in the AM and PM!

Tonight I haven't been doing much... watching "Amazing Race" and "Monk."  now it's 9pm already and time for bed.  I'm glad Bruno seems to be doing better... he threw up on the way home and then threw up a few times at home (thankfully... on the tile floor!).

Okay... signing off!

My friend Barb took this over at her house when we stopped by while we were up in her neck of the woods.  I used to work with her in Hawaii.  I haven't seen her for a couple years, so it was great to see her. It sounds like she has really settled in to her position well and has made some great friends already and has found her niche.  I got to meet a few of her friends and I agree... they are really nice.

I had a good time at Wendy's... she's got a great house with a wonderful indoor pool. (No... we didn't swim).  The Halloween party was fun... although I think I didn't get enough sleep the night before and I was rather tired.  Fortunately, it finished up by about 11pm, so I got to bed before midnight.

I'm going to keep this short for tonight.. I'm exhausted.  The trip up went really well, no traffic problems, good weather, etc.  But, coming back was another story.  There was traffic jam after traffic jam... many miles of trying to get UP to 10-20 mph (on an autobahn that has unlimited speed in most areas)... and then there was torrential rain in places.  The dogs did good on the trip and are also happy to be home, I'm sure!

Okay... signing off to get ready for another week.

 December 2013 Calendar picture
 November 2013 Calendar picture
October 2013 Calendar picture

So... guess what I got done tonight! I got my calendar pictures chosen and my calendars ordered for 2013.  It looks like they might even send them directly to me... I'm going to keep my fingers crossed.  Thought I'd post the pictures I chose.  The calendar pics won't have the location printed on the picture, I found out a way to put it in the black border.

Work went okay today... although my one co-worker was being a pain again today. She swears worse than a sailor (and THAT is getting old).  At least I got all my notes done for this week.

Tonight when I got home I went ahead and boxed up some Christmas stuff to mail off to my daughters.  I'm hoping to mail them on Tuesday.  It's got to be mailed before I leave on my cruise.  I think I mentioned that my middle daughter got my Christmas cards I had ordered from WalMart and she has stuck them in the mail.  I'm hoping to have those all done by Thanksgiving as well.

Tomorrow I'm going to take a ~3 hour drive up NE of where I am, I'll be pretty close to the Czech border.  I'm going up for a Halloween party and will be spending the night up there with my friend Wendy (She's also a Social Work).  I'll be back on Sunday late afternoon sometime.  I *think* I'll be able to post, but if I can't... don't worry about me... okay? *smiles*

Okay... it's almost midnight... so I'm going to sign off.

My middle daughter's newest cat

This is my middle daughter's newest cat. HE's HUGE!  I think I read that he's 18 pounds.  Michelle's already got 2 cats...  I guess if he doesn't like them, he can always sit on them! LOL!  His name is Sir Chico, but she's wanting to rename him.

Work went okay today... I kind of got into an argument with one of  my head bosses over coding issues.  I had a couple that called over lunch time to reschedule their appointment and the person answering the phone didn't go into the computer and cancel it (Patient cancel)... so by the time *I* got the message, it was too late.  If a person's appointment is at 1pm, you can only put in patient cancel until 12:59, otherwise it is "facility" cancel (our fault for cancelling the appointment).  Anyway... the other alternative is to say it was a "no show" but then it's possible for the client to get billed for being a "no show" and I didn't want to do that.  Anyway... I had an email argument with the head supervisor (it's okay... I can do it and I wanted to stand my ground on that one).  I think I won that one.

Other than that, I've been talking online with a woman who is going to be on the cruise with me, she lives in WA not too far from Portland, OR.  Anyway, she's going to be getting married on the cruise and she just asked me if I would like to come (she has to turn in the final wedding guest list today). They are hoping to get married in the chapel (slash theater?) on the boat and they are hoping to get married on 12/12/12, but all that is up to the Captain or ship staff.  I hope it works for them! That would be neat... I've never been to a wedding on a ship. *smiles*  Now I'll have to think of something to get them as a unique gift from Germany.  (Any suggestions?).

Okay... time to sign off, it's 9:40pm.
