Long, but fun day!

Some random statues on a building in Budapest (btw, did you know Budapest is pronounced Budapescht, yup!).

You can't really tell too well, but this chair is in the window of a spa in Budapest and there's a fish tank where you put your feet/legs into... I guess the little fish nibble off your dead skin? I can't imagine what that would feel like. (And no, I didn't try it).

So, today I drove up to Baumholder to meet up with Laura. She & I used to work together back in one of the clinics in Hawaii. It was good to see her. We chatted and did some shopping and had a late lunch/early dinner together (at Macaroni Grill), it was great. It was good to catch up on old times and former aquaintances. It's a little over 2 1/2 hours to drive up there, then I picked her up and we came back to Ramstein, which is about 1/2 hour back my way (then after Ramstein, it was the 1/2 each way back and forth to Baumholder). I found out that one of my other former co-workers that came over couldn't handle it and she's leaving 6 weeks shy of a year being here - so has to pay her own moving costs. Thankfully, Laura said she didn't bring too much. I hope it works out better for Laura and if not, that she can find another position here in Germany or Europe after the mandatory 1 year mark.

Now it's after 9 (I got back about 8:30) and time to think about heading to bed. That's probably one of the only problems of going up there today, is that I won't feel like I had a full weekend to rest (but next weekend I'm on-call... so I can rest then!).
