Hungarian meals...

Roast duck, paprika chicken, pork cutlet, noodles, potatoes, etc. This was a Hungarian Sampler plate (WAY too much to eat!) *smiles*

Hungarian "Gundel" pancake (with a nut filling and chocolate sauce over top). It's more like a crepe. *smiles*

Paprika Chiken with Hungarian noodles...

Hungarian Goulosh... num, num...

Thought I'd post some pics I took while eating when I was up there in Budapest. The food was good and not too spicy (but always more than I could eat).

SO... today was okay. I got to sleep in (after going to bed about 2am!). After showering and dressing, I took the dogs potty, then went and ran errands all afternoon. I was mainly doing some shopping. I needed to get a "booster" (repeater?) for my internet, because when I had to replace the router that was here, my signal strength dropped significantly. I also took my "plastic" bottles over to the store to cash those in and to buy more sodas. *smiles* I found a snack, some struesel kuchen and a pretzel. Later in the day I had some Taco Bell for an early dinner. I also got my hair cut today. When my hair starts getting long on the top of my neck, it bothers me and it always feels so good when I get it cut! My day of errands ended with a grocery shopping trip and as typical, I spent more than I had planned on (but I did get the stuff to make party mix from scratch! YUM!).

Other than that, via Facebook I found out my friends and family in Alaska were dealing with thick Ice fog and temperatures -45 to the -50's. BRRRR! Several of my friends posted pictures of their Iphone weather app and thermometers. I sure don't miss THAT cold! (I think the lows this coming week here are supposed to get down to about 20 above, that's cold enough!). I also found out that one of the Pastor's I had up in Alaska is not doing well and not expected to live much longer. While I didn't always see eye-to-eye with him, he and his family played an important part in my life for about 5 years. (His grandkids are on my FB). I also found out that his daughter (Beth) was on her way back from seeing him and hit a moose (she had her son in the car at the time), they had some injuries, but it sounds like mostly cuts and bruises. Then, her Dad (my age) and mom were headed down to see their Dad (the Pastor) and got about an hour out of town and broke down in -45 degree weather. It sounds like they were still able to run their heater thankfully! And then... as if all that wasn't bad enough (today) I found out one of my co-workers had a home in Phoenix that was significantly burglarized today. (He's here, his condo is in Phoenix). Sheesh. What a day some of my friends and family have had!

Okay... time to sign off.

Auf Wiedersehen!
