Hop on hop off in Budapest

Well, the weatherman said it was supposed to be sunny today, well, I guess he was 50% right, but there were also some snow flurries today! I slept in (the bed isn't very comfortable), I went down for breakfast about 9:30 then went up and got ready to go. Most of my day was spent on the Hop on, Hop off bus. I got off over on the Buda side at the Mattias church and spent some time looking for photo ops (it was snowy there for awhile). I took a tour of the church and then wandered the palace grounds . I got lucky and got to catch the pomp & circumstances of the changing of the guards, that was neat! Then I took the Furnicular train down to the bottom of the hill and caught the hoho bus there again and finished riding it around. I did a little shopping today (nothing like Istanbul, at least I can still get away with just my carry-on suitcase). I found something (a Hungarian soccer shirt) for my oldest granddaughter and found something butterfly related that I think my youngest daughter will like. I found a small tablecloth for the coffee table in my office, and a matching large napkin that I can put on the end table in my office. I did buy a small canister of Paprika, which Budapest is known for. I went to a small restaurant for dinner and had creamy garlic soup, yum!

Because I've been out most of the day and I've done a significant amount of walking, I've come back to the hotel early to get on the web and to relax a bit. It is already almost 9pm, so I had better sign off, I may go see if the jacuzzi is open. Tomorrow I am planning to go find one of the thermal baths and hang out there for awhile. : )

Auf Weidersehen,
Kris
