Hooray, Hooray! It's FRIDAY!

(Just taken a few minutes ago... the pups sleeping on my lap)

Thought I'd post a couple pics of the dogs that I took last night (Peanut on top, Bruno in the bottom picture).

Well, today went okay at work. My one co-worker was off so that she could get her household goods delivered (she just moved here from another area in Germany). So, it was just my boss and I in our clinic (there were others there in the building, but the behavioral health side was short-staffed today due to people on vacation and such). Usually our Fridays consists of a morning staff meeting, a couple hours of work and then an afternoon of training. Other than having several rather long interactions with my boss, it was a quiet day. I was supposed to have one client come in today, but she's pretty ill right now, so we postponed until next week. I got to focus on paperwork and some training stuff, but I'm procrastinating on some assessment write-ups that I need to get done. Ugh!

After work I came home and took the dogs on a 3+ mile walk. We went a way that we haven't gone for quite awhile (well, at least part of it), so they wanted to stop and sniff a lot... and I couldn't let them off their leashes because there were too many people walking and running along that one road. We kind of went opposite of the way we normally go, but just added a couple extra roads/paths. Our time was still fairly good though... 20 min miles. I've given my doggies some nicknames... Peanut's is "Lollygagger" (is that really a word?) and Bruno is "Pokey butt". (LOL!). Right now both are laying in my lap, sound asleep... (I'll take a pic with my cell phone and add it above! *smiles*).

I still want to mop my floors tonight (just the main floor), I've already swept. My landlord is stopping by tomorrow to do some work outside the house, but just in case he wants to come in, I want it as clean as possible. (Not much clean up to do... but we do seem to track in our share of dirt when we go walking (potty breaks and such), so need to clean the floor). I'm also doing laundry tonight. I had a salad for dinner (I had a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch... I went to lunch with my boss and one of our Psychiatrists). I'm going to have Strawberries and Whip Cream for desert... mmmm! Guess I'd better sign off and go get my strawberries... it's 10:40pm already!

P.S... Three weeks from tonight I'll be on an overnight train to Rome the first leg of my journey on my Transatlantic cruise! YAY!

The "X" factor... and today

These pictures are loaded backwards... but there were a lot of contrails on today's walk and the sunset was really nice. I liked the "X" in the top photo... *smiles* (And I'm watching "The X factor" tonight).

Work went fine today... I had a no-show this morning, but otherwise I had four appointments today. My one appointment I had scheduled for tomorrow cancelled (she recently had surgery), so that means I *should* be able to catch up on my documentation tomorrow! YAY!

After walk we did our walk... but I have to say... we had a GREAT pace (I did pause the timer a couple times when I had to stop and take the dogs off and on their leashes and initially when they stopped to do their business). Our pace was 17.49 and we did 4.29 miles. I'm so thankful that I *am* able to get out and walk and that the weather has been so great and conducive to walking. I think this was my fastest pace ("our" fastest pace!). And yes, the leaves ARE starting to change colors and the ground IS starting to be covered with leaves... I do worry about walking so far because I *am* on call this week, but "knock on wood", I haven't had any calls, so it's been nice in that regard. I'm pulling two weeks of on-call (I volunteered).

Tonight I'm watching "The "X" factor" and trying to sort out my vitamins. I need to pick up some refills when I get back to the States and can go to GNC (where I buy some of them).

Okay... it's 9:30pm, I'd better sign off and think about walking the dogs and bedtime.

Oh What a Day, in Late September...

This house that I passed on the Volksmarch in Heidelberg had some interesting character. It was even neater when I first saw it, because the cat below was lounging in front of the door (but some other walkers came along and paid some attention to it so it moved away from the door to lay on a manhole cover...)

Looking through this garage reminded me of some Italian looking bistro or something... just old fashioned, colorful and neat!

You know how I like half-timbered houses... *smiles*

So... what a way to start the day! I went to take the dogs out this morning (it's dark now when I take them out in the morning) and I somehow managed to get out the door and leave the key IN the door on the inside. I realized it after a few minutes. (And Wednesday mornings are the mornings we have our EARLY staff meetings). SO... I went over to my neighbors and asked for help. I won't say HOW I got into my house... but suffice to say we were finally able to get into the house. Tonight Tamie & Curt came over to help me fix what needed to be repaired as a result of my gaining entry (well, it's not 100% fixed... but livable and not very noticeable). And of course... my landlord (whom I have seen once in about 6 months, called to say he was coming over on Saturday).

Anyway... after THAT (this morning)... then I went over to pick up my neighbor... and dumped a soda in my car... got THAT cleaned up... then we were running late... and the kids were running late... and we got down to the corner and their BUS was at the corner, so Tamie went back to yell at the kids to RUN (they made it, we stayed until we knew they were on the bus!). SO... I got to work late... then was met by our newest Social Worker, she was going over to the hospital, she had fallen earlier at the hotel where she is staying and cracked her head really hard on brick (wall/sidewalk, not sure). I felt her goose egg... it was pretty darn huge! She got it looked at and was back at work later in the morning. What a morning! After the staff meeting, I think I had two appointments, and then this afternoon I had a couple more. So... a relatively busy day.

Tonight I took the dogs out for their walk, then had some shrimp salad for dinner. (I had cheese sticks from Pizza Hut for lunch and didn't get my oatmeal this morning because of the chaos.... so thought I should eat a healthier dinner).

Okay... it's almost 9:30pm. I am going to take the dogs out for their bedtime walk and then head to bed soon.

Changed something on this blog page... did you notice?

This seems so typical German...

So, work was fairly busy today, I had one cancellation and had four sessions/appointments (would have had 5?). Maybe that means I'll have one spot empty on Thursday? (Because one I thought was coming in either tomorrow at 1 or Thursday at 1, came in today). I had two 12 yr olds back-to-back (actually one was referred by the mom of the other). That went fine today. This morning (which was slower) allowed me to get a couple more assessments written up... wow what a chore! I still have 3-4 to catch up on. ugh!

I will be so glad when the road through my small town is fixed/finished. It's been torn up for at least a month so far, it looks like they are now finishing up, so maybe within a week traffic won't be so back-logged. In the morning it takes me an extra 10 minutes or so to go about 1 mile.

After work I took my doggies for their walk. We did something like 2.6 miles and we had a great time, something like 18 1/2 minute mile! I'm still about a thousand steps away from my 10k. Guess I need to get off the computer and do some "stepping" (actually, I want to go give the doggies their bath I've been promising them for awhile!).

It was a beautiful day here in southern Germany, it was in the upper 70's this afternoon. I'll miss these days... but thankful for 4 seasons. The leaves are finally starting to change more each day.

Okay... I'm going to sign off... I am waiting for one particular couple to dance on "Dancing With The Stars" and then I'll go give the dogs their baths.

BTW... I put a countdown clock on my page for my daughter's trip to Germany. She got her passport yesterday! One step closer! YAY! (Then I'll have to start working on talking my other daughters into coming over!)

A good day for walking...

It was a nice sunset at the end of the walk...

Part of the path along our 4.26 mile walk today...

The blackberries are getting more ripe by the day...

Here's a couple that I picked along the way... mmmm good!

So, work went okay today, I had some new people in today to meet with. We are going through an evaluation at work this week, so my boss is a little stressed and WILL be stressed this week.

Tonight I came home after work and did a 4.26 mile walk with the doggies, it was a great day for walking! And... I'll be on call for the next two weeks... so I may not be able to do as much walking as I would like... and I won't be able to do any long walks like today's. Darn! The weather will be getting colder fast now... so I'm trying to take advantage of all the good weather while I can!

Okay... signing off...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Granddaughter KIARA!

Pictures from yesterday's Volksmarch...
Lovely window along the route yesterday.

Love the flowers...

We walked through vineyards...

The grapes were sweet tasting, but had seeds (I tried 1 grape) *smiles*

If I ever had a cemetary marker, I'd love to have something like this on top of mine. It's such a whimisical statue... and I love music (I have several recorders and a flute).

Today my youngest granddaughter turned 9 years old, whoohoo Kiara! Her mama has a lot of plans for her including a birthday party at the YMCA. I called her this morning (her time) and wished her a happy birthday (and I just sent her some $$, figured out she could buy what she wants/needs then).

Other than that, it's been a quiet Sunday. I *did* get 31,000 steps yesterday, so was rather worn out today. I slept in, then got up for a couple hours and then laid down and took a nap (although I did find a volksmarch I could have done that was relatively close, I ended up not doing, choosing to rest instead). I *did* do almost 3 miles walking the dogs.

This afternoon I cleaned off the back patio and prepared it for the winter. I put my hammock away (took it apart and put it down in the garage). I had plans to do a lot more... but the energy level just hasn't been there.

I've been on the computer a lot today (that's not a surprise). I moved most of my pictures off my laptop to one of my external hard drives, and then I went through and deleted a LOT of old emails and emptied the deleted folders. I was trying to free up more space on my laptop.

Now it's already about 9:20pm and the end of another weeked... so I'm going to sign off... go get ready for work tomorrow and then get to bed.

Heidelberg and Volksmarch

Found some young German girl to take my pic at the Castle up above Heidelberg today...

This was taken from the Bridge down in old town... looking back up at the Castle...

The sun set on another wonderful day in Germany... (after I got home)

So... I had a great day. I ended up doing the 11k. The hill wasn't as torturous as some I have been on, thank goodness! The path started off through town, then took us through vineyards and once the 5k split off, it was uphill for about 3 kilometers... ugh! Thankfully there was a control point at the top.

And you know what was neat about the Control point? There were a bunch of young ladies from all over the US, over here to do a semester of student teaching at one of the local military affiliated (DODS - Department of Defense) schools. At least three were from Washington State, one was from my hometown of Spokane and had graduated from my Dad's alma mater (Lewis & Clark HS). Another young lady had gotten her Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Arizona... where my middle daughter got her PhD (She didn't know you Michelle... she had taken a Philosophy class or two). And yet a couple more of the young women were from Michigan. As I told them about my MN, WI, IL, IN, MI trip from a few years ago, I mentioned that we went down and saw friends in Saline, MI and one of the girls had graduated from the HS there... and had her Senior pictures taken at Weller's (http://www.wellersweddings.com/)

Carl Weller and his wife (Micky) renovated the old place that used to belong to Henry Ford back in the day (and did an awesome job!) I met Carl in Hawaii. What a history book that guy is! I was taken a group piano class back then and mentioned it to my friends, Guy & Nikki, who said their friend Carl was also taking a class... it was the same one. Carl was a POW in WWII.

I stopped to see them on a road trip I took with my good friends Walt & Bette and introduced them (even though both couples had ben coming down to Hawaii for many years and had friends in common (Guy & Nikki) they had never met. Unfortunately, Carl's wife passed away this year, she developed alzheimer's a few years ago.

Anyway... it was/is a small world. Who knew I would run into these young women with varying connections to my life (or where I've lived or been) up on a hilltop outside of Heidelberg? Neat, huh!

After the volksmarch, I hopped on the bus and it took us to the Castle. I wandered around the castle for awhile, then took the furnicular train down to Old Town. That was a treat... They had a fest going on with a LOT of activities and music. We (the Volksmarching club) stayed up in Heidelberg until about 5pm, then headed back to Stuttgart.

As soon as I got home, I took my dogs out for THEIR walk and we did ANOTHER 2 miles! Whew! Now I'm within a few hundred steps of breaking my record of 30, 692 steps and it's 11:45pm, so I'd better sign off and get them done so I'll have a new record of steps in a day to challenge!

Oh My Gosh... what a day!

Rose in my neighbor's yard... beautiful, eh?

So, today has been "one of those days for me." This morning went fine... staff meeting and then working on documentation all morning, got about 1/2 my notes written. Then this afternoon I had to go to the main clinic for some training, I was supposed to be there for the 1st 15 minutes, then had an hour before my next training, so I thought I would work through my normal lunch hour and just take my lunch break then. Well, I only got a 1/2 hour for lunch. No worries. I can deal with that. (I went to the gas station and then went to Subway and picked up a sandwich to take back to training). The 2nd training I was supposed to go through was supposed to start at 2, it didn't start until about 2:50pm.

Let me back up and say that today was my co-worker's last day at work, he'll be working in Italy on Monday. I had made him a German Chocolate birthday cake today (which was Tuesday, the day we had his and another co-workers' going away luncheon, so we had decided to have a smaller celebration today, on his last day). Anyway... the long and short of it, was I didn't get back to the office until AFTER 6pm! And the office closes at 4:30 (my boss was still there though... I just picked up the rest of the cake and brought it home and took it over to my neighbors with the kids... I'm sure they will enjoy it!). Oh... did I mention that I make wonderful home-made frosting for the top of the cake? Yep, I do!

Anyway... back to this afternoon. The training didn't get over until about 4:45pm. THEN it took me 30 minutes to drive from the clinic to the front gate of the complex. After that, it took ANOTHER 45 minutes to get to MY office. SO... it took roughly 1.5 hours to drive about 8 miles. GRRRRR! Heaven help me when our clinic relocates to the main clinic... I don't know if I can tolerate the traffic! I began to wonder if maybe that satellite (UARS) had crashed somewhere in the vicinity and was causing the traffic slow down, but I read tonight that it hasn't come to earth yet. And it sounds like there is a chance it could hit in North America. I just pray the pieces hit in an unoccupied area.

Leaving the clinic, I was mad. I was upset about not getting back to work in time to say good-bye. Another person would have probably just said they had another commitment and left... and maybe I should have... but I didn't. Anyway... then dealing with traffic, I'm probably just lucky I didn't explode with road rage... I sure felt like it a couple times. And of course... those who know me, know I very rarely get very angry. It's just not my nature.

SO... I came home (poor dogs had to wait an extra hour!) and even though the sun was just getting ready to set when I got home, I still took the dogs for a 2 1/2 mile walk. I needed to clear my head and my mood (and it helped) Then I went over to my neighbors. Trevor had a math puzzle to figure out... and my brain wasn't in any space to figure out a math logic problem...I just couldn't wrap my head around it... so being the good googler I am... I suggested googling it... and we did... and then we could better figure out the puzzle (it had most of the answers, and then it was just a process of elimination after that).

Now it's almost 11pm (got caught up on my emails and FB... have a couple email responses to write, but think I'll wait until tomorrow night). I'm tired and kind of wishing I hadn't signed up for the volksmarch in the morning. It's going to be a long day tomorrow... and it could have been a lot shorter if I had just driven up there myself, or possibly I could have driven up there with my neighbors and done the volksmarch on Sunday. The Volksmarch is in Heidelberg. The one nice thing is that they are giving a glass stein for completing the Volksmarch and they are celebrating their 40th year as a club. I'll try to remember to take my camera and take a lot of pictures. My Canon cameras are in the shop (two of them), so I'm using my waterproof camera. I still have one more camera under warranty that I need to send to Panasonic to be fixed... just need to get around to it.

Okay... signing off...

Quick Thursday post

It was another beautiful afternoon for a walk, the dogs and I did almost 3 miles after work! whoohoo! *smiles*

Well, another quick post (I hope).

Work went fine today... not TOO busy, but also have a lot of catching up to do on my paperwork, hopefully will get caught up tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, it's the last day for one of my co-workers (so now, 2 out of three co-workers that were here when I got here, will be gone... just leaving my supervisor being the 1 out of the 3).

Tonight I'm making a cake, because that co-worker leaving had a birthday this week. We didn't want to combine it with the going away party, so we are doing a little something for just him (maybe we'll call his wife and tell her to come).

Okay... keeping it short!

Busy busy Hump Day!

I made it home just in time for sunset tonight... sure was pretty though!

So, the day started off with a staff meeting and then I had SIX appointments today, two of those were new people that I need to write long assessments on (actually, I did get one of the assessments done this morning, amazingly... but due to the lack of issues for the client, it was actually fairly easy to write).

Lunch time we had a going away party for a couple of co-workers (so no walking at lunch time), and then after work I had a "nail" appointment. I had made arrangements for Trevor to come take the dogs out for a walk after he got home from school, so the dogs didn't have to wait so long for me to get home.

As soon as I did get home, I took the doggies for a walk up to what I refer to as "The four corners". We probably walked just over a mile (well, almost 1.5 miles). When we got home I walked over to the local "village" store to pick up some eggs (I was down to 2). Mainly wanted to get a few more steps in. I'm barely at 7,000 steps (but yesterday I got over 15,000!).

Okay... it's 9:40, time to take the dogs out for their last potty break of the evening so I can come home and get to bed. According to my fitbit, I woke up 24 times last night! GRRRR. Mainly because the dogs (especially Peanut) was unusually restless last night.

Aloha and Auf Wiedersehen!

Gorgeous day for a walk...

It was an absolute beautiful day for a walk... the dogs & I did just over 5 miles today after work... it was about 68*, clear and sunny!

Oh well... the photo is a little washed out... but it was a nice sunset...

Bruno was eating little nuts off the ground, not sure what they were

These are what the nuts/seed pods looked like... not sure what they were.

This is what the "nut" looked like in it's pod on the tree...

Work was busy today, I had four appointments (but two were new). My boss was kind of stressed today, she's under a lot of pressure this week... and then we are in the midst of staffing changes... this is the last week for my one co-worker, and the 2nd week for my new co-worker. Hope things settle down soon. My guess is that "their" side of the house is going to be busy, because it sounds like there is some hesitation about hiring a 2nd Domestic violence worker (questioning whether or not there is enough work for two, in addition to the supervisor, based on the past performance/workload).

It *was* such a nice day after work today... and I've missed having a "normal" walk for a couple days... so we did an extra long walk today. Even after the first couple miles I felt like I could walk forever (as long as there were no hills involved! lol!). We didn't get back home until after 7, and then stopped to talk to the neighbors for a little bit. Right now I'm watching "Dancing With the Stars."

Okay... going to sign off...

Another cloudy day...

I like this fence out along our walk...

This photo doesn't do this property justice... it's so nicely landscaped (and used as a weekend retreat for it's owners)

Part of the road we walked down today... it was still pretty damp out there...

Normally we head up the road that the gate is down across (we walk around it... it is meant to keep vehicle traffic out)... and then we come back down the other road. But, it was pretty muddy out there today, so we didn't go down the dir roads... we stayed on the pavement. Although, we did take some detours through the orchards and both dogs had a rotting pear... they probably both have the runs now... ugh!

The dogs on the wet pavement as we head back towards home.

So... back to work (Monday). My boss came back today and was surprised (I think) by the cases she had waiting for her when she got back (and then she had to go check on an abuse allegation today as well). I had four people scheduled, but my 2pm appt didn't show up and so I called her... she thought her appointment was at 3. I'll see her tomorrow at 3 now. So, I think I have five appointments tomorrow, including two new clients. Wowza!

I've just been chillin' since I got home... made myself some dinner... but then, earlier when I took the dogs for a walk, we were gone an hour or so, but just didn't go very far.

And really... is summer really over? It was in the upper 40's today... brrrr. I want the warmer weather of summer back. The leaves haven't started turning colors yet, but I expect with this cooler weather, they will be turning soon. Ahhhh... summer... where did you go?

Okay... signing off...

Rainy Sunday...

What else to do when you're bored on a Sunday? Take pictures of your pups!

I woke up this morning and it was wet, cold and rainy... so no volksmarch for me today. Instead I took it easy this morning and then this afternoon I straightened up my storage rooms and my main floor closet.

I took some garbage to the dump and then stopped by work for a few minutes (I took the dogs with me when I ran the errands). I did get one call today (I'm on call this week), but it wasn't something I had to go "in" for. I did write it up when I stopped by work and sent emails to the appropriate people.

I'm feeling good about the work I got done around the house today (the storage room and closets). I still need to tackle all the paperwork I've accumulated though.

Tonight I've made some banana nut bread and muffins. Mmmmm... they are good!

I didn't get my 10,000 steps in today (no walk in the cold rain...) I think I have about 5,100 steps right now.

Okay... signing off... I'm messaging with my daughter in Alaska.

Quiet Saturday

This is just a silly picture of Peanut that I took the other day... she's sleeping on the back of the couch...lol! I think it was after one of our walks.

So... it's been a quiet Saturday. I slept in a little (although Peanut wasn't too happy about that and woke me up about 10 times from 5:30 - 8:30). Then after taking the dogs out, I got ready and went in to watch my neighbor kids play soccer, but Trevor either told me the wrong time, or I *heard* the wrong time... they weren't playing when I got there (and then played at 12:30 apparently... but at least they won their game). I did some shopping and ran into my new co-workers (and the wife of the co-worker leaving). I had lunch with my new co-worker and since we both had our doggies in the car, we introduced them (and surprisingly, Bruno did pretty good!). Then I brought the dogs home and hung out here at home for a little bit... then headed out to the ReAl store (pronounced Reee-al). I needed to drop off my recycleable bottles and buy some more sodas. After wandering around there for awhile (and running into a couple peers from the other clinic, including a new doc), I went over to see my friends David & Carol. David wasn't home, but Carol was. I stayed over and talked Carol for awhile... she hurt her foot (*I* think pretty bad, even though it wasn't really swollen)... she wouldn't go to the doctor's. I hope it gets better. (she hurt it coming down the stairs). Of course... Carol being Carol... even though she should have been elevating her foot... she was sitting down ironing David's pants and shirts and some of her clothes as well. She & David are very industrious. (MUCH more than I am!).

I did come home and take the dogs for a VERY short walk... then it started raining, so we turned around and came back home (the dogs wanted to RUN all the way home!). Before it got dark, I went out and mopped my garage again... it's all clean now! (I need to talk to my landlord about getting an opener. Apparently whoever lived here before accidentally packed it up with their household goods). I guess if nothing else, I *could* keep my bike in there... that's an idea. Maybe I'll move it to the garage in the morning (it's in one of my basement storage rooms now).

I wish I'd get motivated to get the other things done I'd like to get done. (Like go through all my paperwork... and organize/straighten up all the storage rooms). Oh well... someday? For now I'll get off here... I'm watching the Auburn-Clemson football game (not that I'm that interested in it... I'm watching it because I can?).

Snakes in Germany!

The skies were rather overcast today after work as I took the dogs for their walk... we did 2.26 miles today... AND came across a snake on the road (where we always walk).

The snake wasn't aggressive at all, and I know that there are only 2 poisonous snakes in Germany (that I've read about). I was even brave enough to lay a pen down alongside it for comparison! I'm not generally afraid of snakes, I've held several, but I haven't seen a snake for a long, long time. You have got to realize, that there are NO snakes (other than illegal ones) in Hawaii and NO snakes in Alaska... so, it has been 26 years or so since I've lived where snakes have lived...

If you click on the picture, you can see a larger picture of this snake. I haven't been able to figure out what kind it is (I've done a few google searches). Oh well, I posted a picture of it on Facebook as well, maybe one of my Facebook friends will recognize what it is.

Work today went fine. I didn't have any clients so I got to focus on paperwork and I *still* didn't finish all that I had hoped to get done. There are still three assessments to write up. Ugh! And next work is already looking to be fairly busy!

No real plans for the weekend. I'm on call, so I'm limited to how far I can go. My young neighbors across the street (Trevor and Tia) are going to have a soccer game in the morning, I may go to that. It's near where I work. There's also a volksmarch this weekend, within driving distance (1/2 hour distance).

If I did everything I would LIKE to do (or feel I *need* to do), I'd get my main floor closet organized, I'd start organizing all my paperwork that I have accumulated since I got here, and I'd straighten up my closets downstairs. I did my laundry last night and today, so all I have to do is put a few things away. And I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to take a mop to my floors. I'm thinking about doing another mopping of my garage this weekend. Of course... I may just take it easy and take some naps! *smiles* Oh yea... the other thing I could do is detail my car! *smiles*

Okay... signing off...

Tired Thursday...

I took these photos with my Iphone, so the quality isn't as good as it could be, but you can kind of see a "sun dog" up there in the sky...

The doggies on their walk (near where some kids did some chalk drawings on the pavement)

It was a BEAUTIFUL day for a walk! The air was just a *little* crisp... it feels like fall is on the way...

Walking the dogs under the long shadows of the day.... We did a 2.5 mile walk today after work... so I already have my 10,000 steps in for the day... *smiles*

So... work was busy today. I had 5 appointments, but one was a new one, and my 1st appointments with new clients is generally 1 1/2 to 2 hours long. My new co-worker is still doing inprocessing stuff and my one co-worker was out half the day doing OUT processing stuff!

Not a lot else to write about... I'm just "chillin" watching some TV. *smiles* (America's Got Talent... although I already know who wins the finale tonight).

So... I'll sign off...

Summer's over...

Well... I guess as an indicator that summer must be ending... I have gotten several new referrals in the past couple days. Things are picking up for me at work. Of course with all the changes in the work place...I'm the "steady" employee at this point, especially over this past week and the next couple weeks.

Today I only had three appointments (and an hour long staff meeting). Tomorrow I have 5 appointments schedule, including a new family. So... it will be a busy Thursday!

After I got home, I took the dogs for a 3+ mile walk. It was just about the perfect temperature... a little cool, so I didn't get too hot and it was still warm enough that I was able to just wear a tank top (and long pants). We had a good "time" too... something like 19.5 minutes a mile! (Way to go doggies!).

Tonight I've been watching TV (my favorite pasttime...), I watched "America's Got Talent" and "Undercover Boss."

Now it's 9pm, time to sign off and think about taking the dogs out for their bedtime walk and then heading to bed.

Oh boy... flu shot...

So... work. First off, as I was pulling into the parking lot at my office, someone was nice enough to let me know that one of my headlights was burned out. So, after I got a bite to eat, I stopped by the auto parts store (where they have worked on my car) and they said they could look at it about 2pm. Well, as it turned out, I had a couple come in for counseling at 1 (and I was late getting back to work). Their appointment was for tomorrow, but they hadn't written it down. So, since I didn't have an appointment scheduled for that time slot today, I went ahead and met with them (I also had another client waiting to schedule an appointment with me).

Then I took my car over (it's less than a 1/4 block away) and the mechanic (if you recall my earlier interactions with them... it was the same one that isn't all that good dealing with electrical things)... came out to change the bulb. Well... wouldn't you know it.. THAT didn't fix the problem. He also checked the fuses and THAT wasn't the problem. So, at this point I need to wait until Monday when I am going to take the car in for an oil change. Hopefully I won't have to do any driving at night until then. (The only reason I would need to, is if I get a call while I'm "on-call" this week).

Then I took my new co-worker (well, she followed me) over to our main clinic and we got our flu shots. I did okay (other than the "Pre-" shot anxiety). I didn't pass out or anything. After we got our shots, I walked my co-worker around and introduced her to a few people and kind of oriented her to the clinic. By the time we got done (and I had to pick up a prescription), it was time to be off work. So, I stopped and got some gas and got my car washed before coming home. (oh yea, and I went to Taco Bell, but I wasn't very hungry. I got some nachos and a taco, and was full just after eating the nachos).

I took the dogs for a short walk (just under a mile and a half). For one thing it looked like it might rain, another thing was that I'm now on call for the next week (so can't wander too far) and then, about 1/2 through I started feeling very light-headed (probably thinking about the shot too much). I came home and sat and talked with my neighbors across the street for awhile and let the dogs visit with the kids.

Did I mention that my oldest daughter is coming over in December? YAY! She is. She is coming from December 1-15. I'll probably take a 5 day weekend one week and a 4 day weekend another week. (I'll have a week of time off coming to me by then). We are going to go hit some Christmas markets and then we are going to go up to the Ramstein area (where she was born and lived for a couple years). Hopefully we will get to see a few places while she is here.

Tonight I went online and ordered some new pants. I only have 1 pair that are size 14 (I was an 18W when I came over!). I've lost another 5 pounds in the past couple weeks (another HOORAY!). I have a favorite brand/style, and I know I can get them from JC Penney's, so I just order them. It's easier that way.

Oh yea... and I shipped off my 2 Canon cameras to be repaired. The one I got on the cruise ship in July is malfunctioning and won't work. And I also sent in the one I got last year in Hawaii (there's dirt inside, I think). Hopefully they can repair both without too much trouble (or cost on the one from last year). I still have the Panasonic one that I got for my birthday that I need to get sent back. I don't know what it is with me and camera's this year. I've had problems with 4 cameras in the past year. GRRRR! (Three have been my favorite... Canon SD cameras).

Okay... it's after 9pm. I'm going to take the dogs out for their bedtime walk and then hopefully be in bed by 9:30pm. Peanut's sitting here pestering me, I think she wants to go out.

Corny

Cornfields along the volksmarch.. looked like it was past time to be picked.

Brown corn fields...

This corn looked like it was ready to pop... it was so hot!

Not a lot to write about today, work went fine, I had one appointment call to reschedule, and I had a new co-worker start today, first impressions are that she's nice. I hope it works out for her, apparently she has a 1 year probation period.

After work I took the dogs for a 2.45 mile walk. The weather was about 80* with a light wind, it was great walking conditions.

I'm hoping to get to bed at a decent time tonight, last night I woke up 18 times last night. So, I've been a little tired today.

Okay... signing off...
