hmmmm...

I didn't sleep too well last night, the puppies kept snuggling up against me and waking me up. I do have to say, Bruno has learned how to run up the stairs to my bed really well (I have a little staircase kind of thing next to my bed that I had gotten for Peanut). I had a friend ask if I could give him a ride out to Makaha to pick up a motorcycle he was buying, so I did. I had never been back in here to the Makaha Valley before. I'd seen the apartments (the ones at the base of the mountain) but never knew how to get to them before. The friend of mine ended up getting a good deal on a big Honda (1100cc). It's an older model, from the late 90's. He wants me to go ride with him tomorrow, so I may do that. I haven't been riding my motorcycle as much as I should (primarily because I don't know who to go riding with, and haven't joined the women's riding group that they have on the island, yet). It's been a long time since I've ridden all the way around the island, so I may be doing that tomorrow morning.

This afternoon I went to the Post Office to mail my youngest daughter's birthday present. I sent it in a little box along with a "Coach" coin purse that I had gotten for my granddaughter, but didn't get a chance to give it to her last February when I was up in Spokane when my dear friend Clare was dying. Which reminds me, without looking, I can't remember if I blogged about it last night, but I got home yesterday and had a package waiting for me. It was the "Singing Bowl" of Clare's. This is a Crystal (?) bowl and you hit it with a small rubber mallet and then take the mallet around the outside of the bowl and it creates a tone that gets louder and louder. It's pretty amazing. When Sue had asked me if there was anything I had wanted of Clare's, I said her "singing bowl." It was a nice surprise to get it yesterday. My puppies aren't too sure about the vibrational noise though... Here's a picture of Peanut as I was waiting out in Makaha this morning on my friend with the Motorcycle. I didn't get a good picture of Bruno, otherwise I would have posted it. Peanut is leaning against me as I sit here on the couch, with the laptop on my legs, she had her head on my hands for awhile, and now Bruno is in my lap with his head over my right arm. It's getting to be bedtime for us.

I haven't done much this afternoon... just taking it easy. I laid down for awhile, but as typical, when I try to take a nap, I can't. I think I'm lucky if I take 3 naps a year. Guess I should work on that.

Okay... not much else to write about.

Aloha!
- Kris
